Resetting the shop after the sparkle of Christmas gives us the chance to refocus and plan for the coming months and the year ahead, we have lots of ideas that we are looking forward to sharing with you soon. Meanwhile…
Before reopening after our winter break, we spent the week stock checking,(lots of counting!) redesigning the space, (lots of moving things around), receiving new stock and creating new displays. Regulars will notice changes to our foyer, which is now dedicated to cards, books and local speciality food. The main shop houses all our art and artisan stock and is a treasure trove of discovery.
We have new stock from Emily Clarke, a Woodchester based potter who uses vibrant glazes with geometrical relief patterns on her bud vases, bowls and jugs.

Longstanding colleague,www.starlingpots.com a Nailsworth based potter, brought some gorgeous blue and white plates, small dishes and a stunning blue plate with raised sides, that would be a fabulous vanity tray on a dressing table.

Noemi of www.nimpy.co.uk supplied us with the cutest upcycled cashmere Valentine’s hearts in lovely gift boxes and a restock of her in demand pocket friends, so we have plenty of little mice and foxes to secretly keep you company.

Painswick is welcoming lots of visitors this month as it is snowdrop season in The Cotswolds, and our Rococo Gardens are busy hosting guests for their annual display. The hedgerows, garden borders, and just about every available wild space are also blooming with these little hopeful flowers that seem so unlikely in their delicacy, pushing through the frost and wild winter weather. But there they are, steady, dependable and laced with future promise. They are the tiny beacons of January, reminding us that the often grey skies and drizzle are not the whole story. You can bring a little bit of snowdrop magic into your home with our gorgeous cards by Nike Pike as well as prints and tea towels by Ambling Press.

Stroud based artist Gemma Pitman has just delivered some new prints and cards which are gorgeous! This print (below) is mounted and ready for framing and would bring Cotswold spring vibes to any space!

We are excited to be stocking these gorgeous watercolours from www.sarah-middleton.co.uk of Painswick, her minimal approach and delicate brush strokes create the essence of the approaching season and the spirit of the Cotswolds.

We are also hopeful for a restock of freshly handmade soap by Cranham’s www.sunacresoap.co.uk, which make the shop smell gorgeous!
