The Painswick Potter

I make a range of Raku ceramics both functional and sculptural, including tall vases, wine sleeves and moon jars.
No two pieces can ever be the same as every creation is shaped by the unpredictable dance of fire, smoke and air during the raku process. The result is a collection of ceramics rich in texture, colour, and character, pieces that hold the energy of transformation and the beauty of imperfection, perfect for bringing warmth and artistry into any space.
This pottery is made in Painswick, an old village nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of the Cotswolds using an ancient technique called "Raku" meaning "joy" in Japanese.
Each pot is removed from the kiln whilst red hot. Fire, smoke and air then play together creating a piece of which is truly unique and always a coomplete surprise!
To ensure your new piece continues to give you pleasure for many years to come please note it is neither waterproof nor fiid safe and should ideally be kept our of direct sun light, think of it as a work of art for display indoors.
