The wine sleeve keeps your pre-chilled bottle cool with its thick, insulating walls.   The copper-sheen surface on Raku is created through smoke reduction and is naturally dynamic. Over time, especially with frequent contact with water, it may slowly develop a soft patina. This is a natural characteristic of Raku rather than a flaw. Using the sleeve with a pre-chilled bottle works beautifully without affecting the finish.  If you prefer to use icy water inside, condensation on the outside may occur just like any cold vessel. Gentle drying is recommended to preserve the finish.
