Chris is a biologist by profession but has always had an interest in the creative arts. He discovered the challenges of the potters wheel some years ago and was introduced to the world of Raku. Originating in Japan, the technique really fired Chris’ imagination in all its wonder, unpredictability and complex fusion of earth, fire, water and air.

Each form Chris creates is entirely unique. Using various techniques the glaze is differentially reduced to produce a colour range from blue to green to yellow to red with flashes of pure copper.

Perfume botttles are simply decorated with metallic oxides inspired int he shape and design by ancient Roman alabastrons.
